Supervision and clinical work can be enhanced with the use of projective techniques such as sand, symbols, poetry, art, drama, and play therapy techniques. These approaches bring to focus aspects of case work not obvious using traditional mentoring. The purpose of this training is to provide supervisors an opportunity to explore co-transference, the culture and politics of supervision, clinical insight through creativity, boundaries, and case conceptualization. Case examples and experiential work will guide participants in critical thinking and creative process for supervision. This training is especially useful for supervisors who mentor graduate students and colleagues seeking certification in play therapy. Experiential work will center on ethical considerations and clinical skills to create a safe space for supervision and supervisor training.
